Check Trophy Potential and Medal Estimates

The theHunter: Call of the Wild Trophy Checker compares an animal record with public species thresholds and available score values. Understand likely medal class, see how close a record is to the next line and open the correct species reference for context.
What a Trophy Estimate Can and Cannot Tell You
Medal estimate
Compare an available score or estimate with species-specific bronze, silver, gold and diamond lines.
Potential range
Display saved minimum and maximum estimates without presenting an uncertain range as a guaranteed trophy.
Species context
Link every result to public weight, difficulty and trophy reference information for that species.
When to Check Trophy Potential
- Choose a species or select an animal from a local report.
- Enter or read the available score, weight and difficulty values.
- Review the medal estimate and verify the thresholds in Species Guide.
How to Compare an Estimate With Species Thresholds
Confirm species and sex first, then read difficulty, weight, minimum estimate, and maximum estimate as parts of the same record.
Trophy score and medal thresholds provide the reference. When an estimate crosses a gold or diamond line, preserve that uncertainty and treat the in-game harvest result as final.
Why the Diamond Line Is Never a Harvest Guarantee
Trophy potential check
| Fields and filters | Static example |
|---|---|
| Species | Moose |
| Estimate | 272.1–298.4 |
| Likely medal | Gold |
| Diamond line | 274.99 |
An estimate is not a guarantee; final scoring still depends on the game record and harvest conditions.
Patch 9.2 trophy-score caveats
The official Patch 9.2 notes warn that existing Mountain Goats may display higher difficulty after their TruRacs remaster, but this does not affect rack, trophy score, or medal potential. Do not raise a medal estimate only because the displayed difficulty changed.
The same patch added missing variation to one large Moose TruRacs base model and recalculated matching scores. Pre-existing trophies keep their old scores, while Moose already on a reserve may receive new antlers. Record game version and whether the value comes from a live population animal or an older trophy before comparing borderline scores.

Privacy and Local Processing
Raw saves, private hunter statistics and exact animal coordinates are processed locally by default. They are not placed in public URLs, page metadata or indexable HTML.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Trophy Checker guarantee a diamond?
No. It compares available values with known thresholds. Estimate ranges and incomplete records always retain uncertainty.
Are thresholds the same for every species?
No. Trophy lines are species-specific and can differ by sex or game data rules, so each result uses the matching reference.
Can I check a value without loading a save?
Yes. Public threshold guidance and manual example checks remain available without local files.
